Duties During the course of their careers, Secret Service Police carry out assignments in protection. Duties include: Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area. Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions. Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A. Requirements U.S. citizenship is required. Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years old at the time of application and under 40 at referral. Exceptions may apply for those with current or prior service in federal law enforcement positions covered by special retirement provisions. The Secret Service has determined that age is essential to the performance of this position. Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory. Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye. Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges. Applicants must be able to hear the whispered voice at 15 feet with each ear without the use of a hearing aid. Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position. Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA or Artesia, NM and 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD. Certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so, if you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959.

Senior Mechanical Designer (Data Center)

We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who can work remotely out of one of the following locations below. This position manages the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems at Data Centers and operations of specialized cooling systems. Acts as an Engineering resource for the complete portfolio of mission critical facilities. Plans and monitors Building Management Systems and mechanical measurements. Maintains design documentation. Provides full life-cycle support to Data Centers from concept design through site implementation and operations. This position reports to the Data Center Design Manager. Essential Job Functions Participate in all aspects of mechanical design and engineering including development of basis of design, scope of work, implementation processes and commissioning plans. Support maintenance of all facilities mechanical systems to ensure 100% system availability. Lead, review, and approve designs for data center upgrades which improve availability and efficiency, in addition to capacity increases and monitoring. Update and maintain as-built master records, which includes transferring project drawings over to the master files. Compare existing piping and HVAC systems against drawings and resolve discrepancies. Develop and manage processes and programs to ensure the health and efficiency of mechanical systems within the data center. Develop or review maintenance procedures for all mechanical systems including detailed scripts for annual maintenance and projects. Support Operational teams in problem resolutions, Root Cause Analysis and design and process reviews. Provide immediate technical support to operation teams during critical events, on-call. Administers all aspects of the mechanical service agreements to ensure compliance. Maintain all HVAC and mechanical drawings and process documentation. Manage Energy efficiency. Responsible for increasing efficiencies and maintaining reliability of all mechanical systems. Estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs and new projects. Some travel required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience. Minimum 7 years in data center mechanical design, commissioning, and critical system support. Experience: Experience in Data Center design, construction and commissioning including water cooled chiller plants, complex mechanical distribution systems, raised floor cooling system, automation, and control systems. Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents. Project Manager experience is a plus. Skills and Abilities Understanding of data center mechanical operations procedures, topologies (N1, 2N, N20%, etc.), equipment, piping systems, cooling towers etc. Effective oral and written communication skills, with top tier analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to refine mechanical system designs for availability, quality control, constructability, and cost efficiency. Organized, detailed and successful at setting priorities and meeting deadlines and budget. Understanding of both HVAC and mechanical equipment and system design. Comprehensive use of AutoCAD, Visio, and Office software packages.
