Job Description Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: To operate and make necessary adjustments to various CNC Horizontal or Vertical Machining Centers to produce high quality products to required specifications. Essential Responsibilities: Load and unload parts and inspect finished parts to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications. Should be familiar with many or all of the following: Vertical/Horizontal CNC Mills and/or Lathes Must be familiar with machine operations and control settings for operations such as turning, boring, drilling, tapping, thread-milling, profiling and contouring. Make adjustments to the machine to control speed, feed and adjustments to compensate for tool wear as well as make sure machine is working well and producing quality products; Must work from drawings and specifications. Familiar with production processes and understands job packet documents. Should be able to set-up repeat jobs and new jobs with limited help; Must have ability to perform in process measurements and keep parts in statistical process control. Good knowledge of tool used for the inspection of parts. Should be familiar with CMC’s quality system; Perform a variety of general maintenance and show work required or other duties as assigned by supervisor; Responsible for machine daily maintenance checks and scheduled preventative maintenance; Responsible to keep clean, orderly and safe work areas; Specific duties and general shop skills pertaining to: Quality Control, Unsupervised machine adjustments – tool offsets, Production processes, Supervised machine adjustments – program and cutting parameters; Adhere to Employee’s responsibilities outlined in Cygnus’ Health & Safety Policy. Equipment Expertise: Proven experience setting up and operating Haas CNC machinery. Technical Fluency: Strong understanding of G-code/M-code and the ability to troubleshoot code at the machine. Measurement Skills: Expert use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.) to verify your own work.
