Our 2nd shift machinists start at $26-$28 depending on skill and experience $1.50 Shift Differential and $1.00 raises each 6 months to top out pay of over $35/hr with a Quarterly Performance Bonus of up to $750. What does a Machinist do here at Cook? A machinist sets up and operates manual and CNC machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders, to machine plastic or metal work pieces. Machinists will be able to work to exacting tolerances, determine speeds and feeds to produce quality products. Must be able to visualize finished product, recognize and report corrections in blueprint errors and function as final inspector for finished manufactured products. What you'll do: Read and interpret blueprints with ease Select the proper tools and perform machine set ups to obtain very close tolerances, fitting and alignment of machined parts. Inspect first pieces of a run, work-in-progress parts and final completed parts using a wide variety of measuring devices to ensure quality standards. Ensures proper machine set up and accurate interpretation of prints and specifications to prevent damage to material. Detects errors with frequent tolerance/quality checks. Support the Roads Maintenance Foreperson by monitoring daily tasks of facilities staff and ensuring proper completion of assignments. Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; submit requisitions in accordance with departmental guidelines. Coordinate and perform repairs and upkeep of Association buildings, swimming pools, and recreational facilities. Identify maintenance needs that exceed internal capabilities and recommend coordination with external vendors. Submit requisitions for new equipment and oversee repairs of existing equipment as needed. Ensure all work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards at the end of each workday. Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills when interacting with residents, staff, and vendors. Follow all safety protocols and Association policies, with special attention to health and safety procedures.
