Heavy Civil Construction Senior Project Manager

About the Position The company is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its team in Omaha, NE. This role is ideal for a seasoned heavy civil professional with deep experience in earthmoving and site development projects. While mission-critical site development experience is preferred, it is not required. The Senior Project Manager will be primarily office-based, with periodic field involvement to support project teams and field operations. This role requires strong leadership, project controls expertise, and some estimating experience to support project planning and execution. Key Responsibilities Include: Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, clients, and vendors Overseeing project scheduling, cost control, and overall financial performance Communicating regularly with company leadership and mid-level management Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to maximum profitability Leading and supporting field staff, subcontractors, and project personnel Providing guidance and support on estimating, budgeting, and project planning Supporting field operations through periodic site visits and coordination Requirements Education : Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field Experience : 5 years of experience as a Project Manager within heavy civil or earthmoving construction Technical Experience: Large-scale earthwork and site development Mass excavation, subgrade preparation, and rock crushing Logistics coordination and ongoing site support Experience on private mission-critical projects and/or public works Project Size Experience : Projects ranging from $5MM to $100MM Software : Experience using Bid2Win estimating software Benefits Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance Employer-paid life insurance 401(k) with company match Discretionary year-end bonus Very generous paid time off Company vehicle or vehicle allowance Mobile phone reimbursement Long-term stability with a respected, family-oriented contractor
