Job Description Maintains, repairs, modifies, replaces, installs, and performs routine and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of light and heavy duty heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment for existing facilities and those under renovation. Inspects installations of HVAC equipment installed by others. Routine and preventive maintenance includes operating, cleaning, inspecting, troubleshooting, adjusting, tightening, replacing, lubricating, reporting problems, etc on the aforementioned equipment. Reads, understands and interprets blueprints, drawings, floor plans, schedules and manufacturers operating and/or maintenance specifications as related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC and special equipment, building structures and finishes. May be called upon to assist other maintenance personnel in completion of work assignments. This includes but is not limited to electricians, plumbers, maintenance technicians, sheet metal workers, etc. Responds to requests for routine and emergency maintenance and service from building occupants. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Technical School of HVAC and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement. Currently certified with a Section 608 Technician Type I, II, or III Certification from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) required. Currently licensed with a Driver's License from the State of Alabama required.
