Project Manager - Healthcare Construction
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects in the Knoxville region, managing work from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for a hands‑on builder who excels at schedule management, cost control, stakeholder communication, and delivering technically complex projects. Client Details Our client is a Knoxville‑based construction management/general contracting firm known for delivering large, complex, and high‑quality commercial projects throughout East Tennessee. They operate as an employee‑owned company with deep experience in healthcare, higher education, aviation, food & beverage, science/technology, and institutional projects , and are recognized for transparent communication, innovative problem‑solving, and strong local community involvement. Description Lead all phases of commercial construction projects, including planning, procurement, scheduling, and execution. Manage project budgets, cost forecasting, buyout, and subcontractor scopes. Serve as the primary liaison for owners, architects, engineers, and consultants. Oversee documentation including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, change orders, and pay applications. Partner closely with Superintendents to maintain safety, quality, and production targets. Conduct jobsite visits to monitor progress, address field challenges, and ensure adherence to specifications. Facilitate project meetings, maintain consistent communication, and uphold strong client relationships. Lead project closeout, ensuring punch list resolution and delivery of turnover documents. Profile Proven experience managing commercial construction projects with a GC or CM firm. Background in one or more complex markets such as healthcare, higher education, technology, federal/aviation, industrial, or lab environments . Strong skills in budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and contract administration. Ability to collaborate closely with field leadership and maintain strong jobsite coordination. Proficiency in construction management software and digital documentation tools. Excellent communication skills with a client‑service mindset. A proactive, solution‑driven approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities. High standards for safety, quality, and team leadership.
