University Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physician to provide high-quality medical care to individuals housed in the Bexar County Adult Detention Center . This unique role offers the opportunity to serve a population with complex health needs in a secure environment while working within one of Texas leading academic health systems. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive health care services within your specialty to individuals housed in the Bexar County Jail. Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions for incarcerated patients. Collaborate with nursing staff, mid-level providers, and correctional officers to deliver safe and effective patient care. Accurately document patient encounters and submit billing/coding information in compliance with policies. Participate in quality improvement activities, chart reviews, and peer audits . Support teaching and training opportunities with UT Health San Antonio medical students and residents. Participate in a rotational on-call schedule . Ensure care delivery aligns with University Healths mission, values, and established correctional health standards. Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program . Board certification or board eligibility in your specialty. Texas medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start). AHA BLS certification required; ACLS (or specialty equivalent) required within 90 days for acute care. Active DEA and DPS registrations . Correctional health care experience is a plus, but not required. Spanish/English bilingual preferred. RN - Registered Nurse - Perioperative (Part-Time)

Job Summary Provides primary nursing support to the physician and patient to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient's condition. Provides patient education, promotes an understanding of the condition and adheres with the treatment plan. The Registered Clinic Nurse, functions in the spirit of teamwork, is accountable for the delivery of care utilizing skills learned in the clinic. Assists other team members on the unit. Job Duties This union position is 20 hour per weeks, 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday with rotating start times between 6:00a.m. and 9:00a.m. This position will rotate between pre, post, and endo. A Minimum of 2 years previous RN work experience is required ; Perioperative/Endo experience is strongly preferred; ACLS and PALS (will be required after hire) Job Duties: Acts as clinic lead providing oversight of clinic flow and non-provider staff. Triages patient sick calls to facilitate appropriate treatment plan with providers. Obtains and documents patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and provides basic medical data base for provider, and prepares patient for examinations. Oversees chart checks insuring that all patient completed testing is available for provider visit. Assists providers in procedures as directed by provider to facilitate accurate diagnosis and treatment. Monitor staffing levels to assure appropriate staffing based on clinic needs. Collects and prepares laboratory specimens and completes associated paperwork to expedite laboratory studies with maximum accuracy and efficiency. Executes and documents ongoing patient communication. Provides instruction to ensure patient's understanding of medical condition and compliance with treatment instructions. Inserts, monitors, regulates and discontinues IVs as required by provider. Administers medications, IV push medications, and topical medications. Routinely inspects and observes condition and operation of diagnostic equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
