Senior Superintendent

SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Aptitude to anticipate problems, critical issues, and opportunities as they arise; along with the capability to creatively problem-solve and bring together viable solutions. The Senior Superintendent will be responsible for providing coordination of project site work activities and supervision of on-site work teams for multiple construction projects or large, complex construction projects. This job will start in New Mexico and transition to working full-time on Projects in Denver, Colorado. RESPONSIBILITIES Overall management of construction activities and task assignments Interface with other departments to ensure all required materials, equipment and inspections support the project schedule Work with Project Manager(s) to budget, forecast, and manage craft labor, equipment, materials, small tools, consumables, and general working environment Review construction documents for completeness and constructability Create, review and update project schedule and three weeks look ahead scheduling Coordinate plans and specifications with engineers, identifying and clarifying any discrepancies Develop and implement site utilization plan and establish crew sizes Select formwork systems and equipment Conduct effective pre-construction planning sessions and project site meetings Oversight and supervision of work crews Coach, mentor and train field personnel, foremen, and assistant superintendents Establish and nurture teamwork environment Ensure crews have resources and support Provide work direction and performance evaluations Identity hiring needs and participate in hiring, performance management, and dismissal decisions Develop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunities Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program at project site Manage open shop and union issues Maintain relationships with all visitors to the site: customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, et al. The Quality Manager will lead, manage, document, monitor, and analyze the quality system on medium to large projects. Also, ensure necessary corrective and preventative actions are taken. Senior Project Buyer I – Energy Storage SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Project Buyer I – Energy Storage that will develop relationships with suppliers, solicit bids, analyze quotations, and select suppliers. Location: Minneapolis, MN RESPONSIBILITIES Purchase items and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements, and other factors Propose purchase transactions that higher authority approve prior to final action Arrange returns for unacceptable products to suppliers Track order status from the time of placing the order until delivery and communicate status to project teams Facilitate and run meetings internally and externally Enter purchase agreements and retain contact with suppliers to ensure delivery of material on a timely basis Enter purchase orders and retain contact with suppliers to ensure delivery of material on a timely basis Visit job sites or offices annually at a minimum to develop more effective working relationships Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels All other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management, or related discipling or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience 4 years of procurement experience and/or experience in a similar role Knowledge of construction processes, equipment, and materials, purchasing processes, and procedures (preferred) Project Management experience (preferred) Understanding of the construction industry (preferred) Negotiating, organizing, planning, verbal, and communication skills Strong customer service and analytical skills Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback Software experience Current driver's license A few benefits offered include: (for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25 hours / week) Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverage Dental plan 401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson match Paid time off, holidays, and other paid leaves Employer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insurance No-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resources Tuition reimbursement Adoption Assistance Gym Membership Discount Program The base pay range for this role is $85,300 - $128,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. Pallet Builder

Overview As a Pallet Builder , you’ll get to build wooden pallets from recycled materials, deconstructed pallets and/or lumber. You may also repair pallets by taking damaged pallets sent from our customers and return them to service-ready condition, before consolidating and shipping them back to the customer. As sustainability is one of our organization’s top goals, this role is vital to our success! Hourly Pay: $14.00/hr. - $25.00/hr. Overview As an Automated Pallet Repairer , you’ll get to build and repair wooden pallets from freshly cut or recycled wood on a daily basis to fulfill all of our customers’ needs! This is a piece rate position, so the more pallets you repair, the more money you make! Hourly Pay: $15.00/hr. - $25.00/hr.
