Primary Patient Population: Underserved population in the Greater Cleveland area Trauma Patients Stroke Patients Cancer Patients Primary skills utilized/learned: Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology Neuro, MSK, abdominothoracic, and cardiac anatomy IV Starts Produces quality CT images in a variety of settings Assisting with CT Guided Procedures including biopsies, drain placements, and tumor ablations Patient scheduling and coordination for inpatients and outpatients Educating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and examination to maintain basic understanding and comfort. On the spot critical thinking Effective communication skills Functions well under stress and with minimal supervision Works well both independently and as part of the CT Team Personnel CT Tech will work with: The CT staff work closely with Nurses, Physicians, Respiratory Therapists and other care team members throughout the hospital to provide the best care possible for all MetroHealth patients.
