Traveling Superintendent - Data Center Construction
We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee field operations for a large‑scale data center project based in the Jackson, Mississippi region. This role requires a deeply technical field leader who can manage MEP‑intensive scopes, fast‑track schedules, and mission‑critical quality standards from mobilization through commissioning. Client Details Our client is a nationally recognized general contractor with a dedicated Mission Critical division , known for building high‑performance data centers across hyperscale, enterprise, utility, and colocation markets. Their teams have decades of combined experience delivering Tier III and Tier IV‑caliber facilities , coordinating complex structural, MEP, enclosure, and site systems, and executing projects where uptime and reliability are non‑negotiable. They bring a national footprint with more than 20 offices and a proven ability to deliver greenfield hyperscale campuses, phased turnovers, and sensitive live‑environment retrofits with rigorous planning, safety, and quality control. Description Lead all daily onsite activities for a mission‑critical data center project, including structure, MEP systems, envelope, and site infrastructure coordination. Manage field operations from initial mobilization through commissioning and turnover. Oversee installation of switchgear, UPS systems, generators, cooling systems, BMS controls, and critical path MEP components. Coordinate with commissioning agents, design teams, trade partners, vendors, and owner representatives. Enforce the highest safety standards and QA/QC procedures for mission‑critical environments. Conduct daily planning, schedule updates, lookaheads, and field reporting. Review drawings, BIM coordination, and technical submittals to ensure accurate installation and sequencing. Drive issue resolution and ensure schedule certainty on fast‑paced, high‑stakes activities. Profile Extensive superintendent experience in data centers, mission‑critical facilities, or high‑tech industrial projects . Strong knowledge of MEP integration , high‑availability systems, redundancy, and commissioning workflows. Proven ability to manage complex sequences, startup activities, and vendor installations. Excellent leadership skills directing large, multi‑trade teams on aggressive schedules. Proficiency in reading electrical one‑lines, mechanical diagrams, and technical submittals. A proactive, safety‑first mindset with attention to detail in documentation and field controls. Ability to travel full‑time to Jackson, MS and future mission‑critical sites. Experience coordinating with commissioning teams, QA/QC personnel, and mission‑critical owners.
