Preferred Skills and Experience: • Master degree preferred • Excellent communication, relationship, and leadership skills. • Change management - adaptable in dealing with ambiguous and complex environments. • Able to effectively lead work within diverse cross functional teams to achieve Client, Division, and Company goals. • Proficiency in Excel – i.e. pivot tables Job Description: Specialist will utilize the Sourcing Management Process (SMP) for strategic analysis of suppliers, supply markets and supply chains for Veterinary Devices category within global Animal Health business, and will also support Commercial Indirect spend categories within MSD Animal Health globally. The position will be part of AH GSM-Animal Health Global Supplier Management – Indirect Procurement, under the Fortify our Future (FoF) Veterinary Devices project. The Specialist will report to the Veterinary Devices Associate Director. The Specialist will take an active role in supporting category management, contract management, risk management, stakeholder management, and supplier value management within this category. Special focus on change management with the MSD Animal Health Technology Solutions team. The incumbent will develop and maintain productive relationships with global operations leads, suppliers, finance leads and with AH GSM team and Global Human Health Procurement. Primary activities include, but are not limited to: • Supplier and Supply Market Analysis - to conduct a detailed supplier and supply market analysis looking at facts and data analysis with the objective of providing deep and meaningful insight to Sourcing Management teams. • Cost Modeling - to construct detailed cost models/purchase price analysis of goods and services that are supplied to Merck; this may include supplier visits to create a complete understanding of the cost structure of suppliers. • Negotiation Planning and Execution- to create detailed pre-negotiation plans, to lead and participate any prolonged negotiation sessions with suppliers and to conduct post negotiation debriefs and follow through plans. • Sourcing - to create and execute RFis and RFPs together with subsequent structured information analysis. • Contract Management- to prepare, negotiate and implement appropriate forms of contract and commitment with suppliers. • Supplier Performance Management - to ensure that appropriate supplier agreements and relationships have good supplier metrics embedded within them. Monitor, report, manage and continuously improve supplier performance. • Stakeholder Management - Establish and maintain key stakeholder relationship within AH country or cluster commercial operations.
