Position Summary: The Surveyor is responsible for all field layout and as-builts on assigned projects. Work conditions include walking long distances while carrying up to 40 pounds of equipment and working in all weather conditions for 8-10 hours a day. Responsibilities: Operate all types of survey equipment including GPS and SCS900 software, Total Station, and Level. Perform site setup activities; i.e. site calibration, level runs, control checks. Perform all layout calculations in data collector; i.e. Station/Offset, Distances, Grading. Keep detailed field notes. Work independently when performing field layout. Transfer files between field and office. Work directly with the Project Managers and Superintendents regarding initial project layout requirements, means and methods of establishing project survey control, and field reporting. Utilize Trimble survey equipment and software including GPS, Robotic Total Stations, and manage Machine Control equipment Software used includes SCS900, Trimble Access, and Trimble Business Center. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required, construction related college degree preferred. 7- 10 years of construction related experience required Valid Driver’s License. Knowledge of survey grade GPS and SCS900 software as well as other survey equipment. Basic CAD skills; i.e. Business Center, Carlson, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Open Roads. Actively participate in project quality control and quality assurance plans to ensure work is constructed in compliance and is accurately documented through clear and traceable records keeping and reporting. Provide technical support for, construction planning, interpretation of design and the development of efficient construction methods. Develop and produce required design, drawings, engineering calcs, for project components or activities such as crane/hoisting lifts, temporary structures or works, falsework, shoring, formwork, safety systems, etc. Actively participate in project close-out including, required documentation, timely management of punch list, commissioning, and transitional system operations turnover. Assist in interpretation and dissemination of drawings, specifications, and other relevant project documents, for field crews and craft supervision. Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed and installed materials and work. Participate in the creation and implementation of Job/ Activity Hazard Analysis, Construction Work Plans, and work packages. Assist in field surveying and project layout including elevations, control points, and compilation of as-built data. Track and verify accuracy of project productions, cost coding of manhours, equipment and in-place quantities are documented daily. Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s). Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training. Order and schedule material deliveries. Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and other contract documents. Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations. Participate in CPM schedule maintenance and performing updates as directed by others. Assist in the maintenance of project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), and memorandums. Participate in project daily data entry, for project tracking including, productions, labor, equipment, etc. and participate in reviewing cost reports with jobsite management. Assist in identifying and documenting, change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by the Project Manager. Provide overall support to project field operations. Qualifications : Four-year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and or two (2) years of relevant experience in a similar capacity in heavy-civil construction projects. Preferred 2 years' construction field experience on heavy civil or infrastructure related projects. Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, BlueBeam. Preferred experience utilizing; HCSS HeavyJob, Vista, CAD, P6. Asphalt Milling Machine Operator

Position Summary: The main function of the Milling Machine Operator is to ensure the safe, and proper operation of the Milling Machine including, but not limited to, daily maintenance and teeth replacement. Complete daily equipment condition report. Monitor milling operations for depth of cut, cross slope and quality of cut and communicate with Quality Control. Must know and understand how to operate milling machine automation. Must know and understand how to utilize a smart level. Operate milling machine to ensure proper cross slope, crown line, and depth of cut is achieved and meets and the surface meets the project requirements and specifications. Inform your supervisor immediately of any challenges regarding the project. Be sure assigned equipment is properly maintained and kept clean at all times. Make sure all equipment is parked in a safe area in a neat and orderly fashion and accessible to transports. Know and understand the clear zone requirements. Place Type 2 barricades if needed making sure the equipment is not a hazard. Be sure all equipment is fueled, filled with water and necessary teeth are replaced at the end of shift. Be sure to lock all compartments. Inspect the project daily, prior to departing, to ensure work is complete with the highest quality and all clean-up is complete. Report all Accidents/Incidents immediately to your supervisor and the Safety Department. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years Milling experience. Safety and quality orientated. Strong work ethic. The Senior Estimator directs all estimators working on the bid, manages the preparation of a pre-bid schedule, and assists with contacting, comparing, and selecting the appropriate subcontractors and vendors, and works closely with the Chief Estimator through bid closeout. Ensure that the integrity of the bid files and process is always maintained. Ensure that labor rates, bond rates, insurance, and any other job-specific information in HCSS is properly set up and maintained. Work with the Chief Estimator and the estimating staff through bid submission. Assist with the budget preparation, DBE selection and documentation on successful projects. Chair Project Turnover Meetings for new projects. Qualifications: In-depth knowledge of HCSS is a prerequisite. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or construction-related field. Minimum of 5 years of complex highway, piling, bridge and marine construction experience. Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory estimating position working on projects valued in excess of $50 million. Minimum of 2 years of design/build experience with large public heavy/civil projects. Excellent computer skills. Experience with computerized takeoff and/or design programs. Ensure accurate layout and adherence to best practices for quality and productivity. Foster and maintain positive working relationships with all team members. Assist with the Daily Huddle and Stretch & Flex routine at the beginning of each shift. Report all near-miss incidents promptly. Supervise and coordinate activities for team members under supervision. Monitor paving operations for proper depth, yield, cross slope, and density to meet project specifications. Determine asphalt tonnage and mix type required for the job. Confirm and coordinate asphalt tonnage and mix types with Dispatch. Verify the correct mix type is delivered by checking load tickets. Ensure crew and trucking operations maintain maximum efficiency. Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of assigned equipment. Report necessary equipment repairs to the Shop Superintendent immediately. Ensure all equipment is safely parked in an orderly manner, following clear zone requirements, and secured with Type 2 barricades if necessary. Ensure all equipment is fueled, filled with water, and properly maintained at the end of each shift. Verify that operators complete and submit Daily Equipment Condition Reports. Ensure subcontractors sign in and out legibly and that their work hours are verified. Conduct a final inspection of the project each day to ensure quality completion and cleanup. Report all accidents and incidents immediately to the supervisor and Safety Department. Perform additional duties as assigned.
