Charge Registered Nurse – RN

PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Functions as the hemodialysis team leader in the provision of chronic hemodialysis care and treatment. Provides day to day direction and supervision to assigned direct patient care staff. Transports medications, which are not controlled substances. Properly cares for and handles instruments and equipment; uses and maintains instrument and equipment in a cost-effective manner. Inspects and cares for instrumentation and equipment to ensure their safety and effectiveness. Charts instrument and equipment maintenance records and sends damaged equipment out for repair. Draws up medications and labels syringes under the supervision of the MD or RN. Assists in procedure room turnover ensuring accurate identification of patient. Transports patient to correct procedure room and from various areas of the hospital. Assists in the lifting and/or transferring of patients to and from exam tables, wheelchairs, carts, and beds. Assists anesthesiologist with obtaining necessary supplies to manage patient airway. Responsible for intraoperative documentation into EPIC which includes documenting in and out times of intraoperative staff, recording event times and supplies used. Performs the duties of the Patient Care Tech as required. Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures. What you will need: Education: The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of four years of High School.
