Job Details Position: Travel Med/Surg RN Setting: Acute Care Medical/Surgical Unit Location: Peoria, IL 61637 Start Date: 9/28/2026 Duration: 21 weeks Shift: 12-hour days, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM Hours Per Week: 36 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Orientation: 2-3 shifts Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 Charting System: EPIC Floating: May rotate to other acute care general medicine areas as needed Job Requirements Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated At least 1 year of recent acute care Med/Surg nursing experience required BLS certification required Experience with central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes required EPIC experience strongly preferred Travel nursing experience preferred; candidates with Level I trauma experience and EPIC proficiency may also be considered Ability to care for a varied adult medical-surgical patient population with confidence and flexibility Must be comfortable working in a drug-free campus environment and passing all required screening Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult med/surg patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, anemia, diabetes, respiratory failure, liver failure, kidney failure, and behavioral health needs Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, implement care plans, and respond to changing patient conditions in an acute care environment Manage and monitor patients with central lines, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and respiratory support needs Collaborate with charge nurses, PCTs, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team Document accurately in EPIC and maintain organized, timely charting Support telemetry monitoring and interpret strip data through unit systems as needed Provide patient education and promote safe, effective discharge planning Float to related acute care units when assigned and contribute to a flexible, team-focused environment Why Join This Travel Nursing Job?
