Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/02/2026 Duration: 12 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $ 2000 $500 CONTRACT COMPLETION BONUS Opportunity: RN - ICU Job Details: • Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience required • First-time travelers are accepted • Patient ratio of 1:1-2 (rarely 1:3) with CNA support of 1-2 per shift • Care for medical ICU patients with common diagnoses including respiratory failure, renal failure, sepsis, GI bleed, DKA, hypotension, hypertension, stroke, pneumonia, cancer, ARDS, and overdoses • Manage chronic ventilators and chronic tracheostomy patients • Monitor and care for hemodynamically unstable patients requiring invasive monitoring and/or close observation • Required skills include trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, and drips titrated to HR and BP • Management of vasoactive medications required • Monitor and manage invasive lines including arterial lines, central venous lines, pulse oximetry, and intracranial pressure monitoring • Assist with and manage bedside procedures including chest tube placement and management, tracheostomy, and PEG tube placement • Manage patients on ventilator support • Operate TABLO equipment • EMR system: EPIC • IV Pump: Alaris • Medication dispensing: Pyxis • Monitors: Philips • Unit-specific equipment includes VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, Belmont Rapid Infuser, TABLO, PCA pain management, SCDs, and cooling and heating blankets and devices • Required certifications: NIHSS, BLS, and ACLS • CCRN (critical care nursing certification) preferred but not required • Scrub color: Navy • May be required to float to all adult ICU units in-house including PCU • Free parking available around campus Facility: This facility is a 637-licensed-bed Level 1 Trauma Center and teaching hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designation. The 14-bed ICU unit operates with robust support staff including CNAs, unit secretaries, charge nurses, a PICC team, discharge nurses, resource team floats, and respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage available 24/7. The unit maintains a busy but team-oriented culture with a central telemetry monitoring unit.
