Product Marketing Manager (New York)

Product Marketing Manager Location: New York City (onsite) About the company Our client is a seed-funded, AI-driven B2B platform that gives large consumer brands a single, trustworthy view of their customers. The platform brings together a brand's in-house research, licensed third-party data, and public web signals so insights teams can get to answers faster and act on them. The company built its product hand-in-hand with major enterprise customers before going to market and is now scaling quickly. The team is small, ownership runs deep, and the work you do shows up in the business right away. The role This is the company's first dedicated product marketing hire. You'll sit between product and customer, translating what the platform does (its capabilities, use cases, business value, and proof points) into a story that turns interest into qualified pipeline and helps the sales team win deals. A separate brand and content team handles awareness and top-of-funnel. Your scope is conversion: mid- and lower-funnel, product narrative, and sales support, with clear accountability for results. You'll be hands-on: defining positioning and personally producing much of the material that carries it, including sales decks, one-pagers, ad copy, and straightforward landing pages. You'll work inside established brand guidelines, with the brand team stepping in to elevate design where it matters most. Your Responsibilities Define positioning and messaging, building value frameworks that connect each product capability to a measurable outcome for a specific buyer persona, including a crisp response to “why not just use a general-purpose AI chatbot?” Lead go-to-market for new product capabilities: the launch story, packaging and tiering, and the cross-functional plan spanning Product, Sales, and Marketing. Develop sales enablement: the core pitch story, presentation decks, one-pagers, competitive battlecards, objection-handling guides, demo scripts, and a library of demo videos. Produce mid- and bottom-of-funnel content: solution and use-case pages, demo storylines, customer case studies, and head-to-head comparison content. Maintain current competitive intelligence against general-purpose AI tools, social listening vendors, and direct competitors, and fold the findings back into messaging. Lead win/loss analysis, buyer interviews, and product-usage research so positioning reflects what's actually happening in the market and helps shape the roadmap. Work closely with the product team while features are being built, keeping what ships and how it's described tightly aligned. Step into neighboring work when it drives results: website conversion optimization, demand campaigns with the growth team, events, and webinars. Requirements 5 years of product marketing experience at a fast-growing technology startup, ideally B2B selling into enterprise organizations. A background positioning products for senior data, insights, or analytics leaders: demanding audiences who don't take marketing claims at face value. Experience marketing trust: building the messaging and proof points (security, privacy, credibility) that persuade large companies to put proprietary data into a third-party platform. A track record with data-intensive B2B platforms, explaining sophisticated products clearly without oversimplifying them. Shipped work you can connect to measurable outcomes such as win rate, conversion, or influenced pipeline, not just volume of deliverables. A doer's mindset: you create the assets yourself, not only the strategy behind them. A modern approach to the craft: comfortable with AI-assisted workflows and automation, with a clear point of view on what should be automated and what shouldn't. High ownership and low ego: you take direction well and push back with a well-reasoned perspective. Bonus points for: Experience with long, referral-driven enterprise sales cycles and multi-stakeholder deals. Familiarity with the AI, data, or research-technology space. Knowledge of CPG and consumer brands, where the core buyers work. Experience building a product marketing function from the ground up, or working as a team of one. Target Compensation: $125,000 - $175,000 USD
