This position is classified as US-Remote but candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to one of the following hub locations: Anchorage, Alaska (ANC), Chicago, Illinois (ORD), Miami, Florida (MIA), Los Angeles, California (LAX), Cincinnati, Ohio (CVG), or New York, New York (JFK). Relocation assistance may be available. Position Overview The AOG Travel Mechanic inspects, modifies, and repairs aircraft at maintenance bases and remote locations. This role involves troubleshooting complex technical discrepancies, executing repairs under time constraints, and supporting aircraft return-to-service efforts during AOG events. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot technical discrepancies and execute repairs on company aircraft Accomplish aircraft inspections in accordance with company and FAA procedures Use electronic test equipment, voltage and amperage measuring devices, and troubleshooting tools Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and technical orders Inspect and assist in the maintenance of company equipment and tooling Work closely with contract maintenance personnel during AOG events Follow safety measures, shop practices, and cleanliness standards Communicate discrepancies to Maintenance Control and follow troubleshooting directives Ensure all aircraft documentation is completed accurately prior to departure Provide guidance to mechanics on advanced maintenance tasks Organize daily tasks and coordinate inspections and repairs Coordinate materials and tooling requirements for assigned shifts Perform manual and aircraft parts inventories as required Assist other departments to support on-time aircraft departures Perform additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 7 years of transport category aircraft maintenance experience Boeing aircraft experience preferred including: 737 747-400 747-800 777 Gen Fam with RII authorization Unrestricted engine run qualifications on 737, 747, and 777 aircraft Formal training on advanced systems and avionics for applicable aircraft Bore scope qualification on CFM, Pratt & Whitney, or GE-90 engines Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate Valid passport and ability to travel regularly for AOG recovery and special projects Skills & Abilities Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently Strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft software and digital maintenance manuals Strong organizational skills and work ethic Ability to work in variable weather conditions Ability to lift parts and equipment Willingness to work rotating schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays About STS Technical Services STS Technical Services is the staffing arm of STS Aviation Group.
