A health system in Long Island is seeking a Pulmonology Critical Care Physician to join their team in Suffolk County. About the Opportunity: Schedule: Flexible outpatient scheduling Hours: 40 hours per week Setting: Outpatient and inpatient Responsibilities: Evaluate, diagnose, and treat conditions such as Asthma, COPD, pneumonia, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, pulmonary hypertension, bronchiectasis, and pleural disease. Manage patients with complex cases in the outpatient clinic setting. Perform and interpret advanced procedures. Interpret results from diagnostic tests. Diagnose and treat life-threatening conditions such as respiratory failure, shock, sepsis, and acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome. Oversee the management of patients requiring mechanical ventilation and other advanced life support techniques. Perform critical care procedures, including airway management/intubation, central and arterial line placement, hemodialysis access, and critical care ultrasonography/echocardiography to guide management and procedures. Participate in the education and supervision of medical residents, pulmonary/critical care fellows, and medical students.
