To support continued growth in Florida and Georgia, this firm seeks an Employment Law Partner with a portable practice to join the Jacksonville, FL or Valdosta, GA office and help expand the firm’s employer‑side platform Why join us? Regional Reach, Local Touch: Serve clients throughout the Southeast while maintaining meaningful community presence in Jacksonville or Valdosta Job Details Experience: 8 years of employer‑side employment law experience in a law firm setting (or equivalent mix of firm and in‑house with a return to private practice). Demonstrated success originating and managing client relationships, including scoping, budgeting, and overseeing teams. Substantive background across a range of employer issues, such as: Counseling: handbooks/policies, wage‑and‑hour compliance, accommodation/leave, discipline/terminations, investigations, training. Agency and litigation: EEOC/FEPA responses, DOL audits, single‑plaintiff litigation, restrictive covenants/trade secrets; class/collective actions a plus. Agreements: employment, separation, incentive/bonus, restrictive covenants. Portable Practice (Required): A portable book of business is required. Typical target range: $300K–$800K in realizable originations (open to discussion based on rate mix, industry concentration, and growth plan). Clear business plan outlining client mix, key relationships, cross‑sell potential, and 12–24 month growth strategy. Demonstrated ability to transition and expand existing client relationships within a new platform. Skills & Competencies: Proven client development acumen and executive‑level communication skills. Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, solutions‑oriented approach to employer risk. Team leadership: ability to mentor associates, manage matters efficiently, and leverage staff effectively. Strong project management: budgeting, staffing, process improvement, and use of legal tech tools. Commitment to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and high‑quality work product. Licensing Licensed and in good standing in Florida or Georgia Dual admission (FL and GA) or eligibility to obtain additional admission is a plus. Preferred Experience advising regional employers (healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, financial services, municipalities, higher ed). Experience with wage‑and‑hour audits/litigation, restrictive covenant enforcement/defense, or employment aspects of transactions (due diligence, integration).
