Vice President of Business Development (Little Falls)

About Greencrown Energy Greencrown Energy is a nationally recognized leader in energy advisory for multi-facility organizations. We've grown every year for the past eight years, averaging nearly 40% annual growth, entirely organically and with no outside funding. That growth earned us a place on both the 2025 and 2026 Inc. 5000 lists of America's Fastest-Growing Private Companies. Our clients include some of the nation's leading multi-facility portfolios and purchasing groups. We help them lower utility operating costs and simplify complex decisions through energy procurement, utility data management, active price monitoring, demand-side management, and decarbonization. Our team of supplier- and advisory-side veterans combines technology-driven tools with turnkey execution. We don't just recommend strategy; we carry it out. Our mission is to be the nation's most trusted and professional multi-facility energy advisory firm. The Opportunity We're looking for an energy industry veteran to lead new business origination and help shape Greencrown's next stage of growth, working directly with ownership and reporting to our Partner & President. This is a production-first, player-coach role, and it comes with a head start. Greencrown has an established network of channel partners, along with significant untapped opportunity within those relationships. You'll activate that network quickly while building what comes next: sourcing your own enterprise clients, opening new partner channels, and ultimately building a business development team and function that produces well beyond the relationships you inherit. You'll work directly with the people who built the firm, helping determine which partners we invest in, which markets we pursue, and how the function scales. You'll work directly with ownership, with no outside investors between you and a decision. You'll hire and coach the producers who scale the team. And once accounts close, our Operations, Account Management, and Energy Strategy teams take over, so your time stays focused on origination, relationships, and growth. You get the stability of a profitable, self-funded firm with the upside and autonomy of a growth company. How We Work Our vision is to be the partner customers rely on for judgment, the platform where the best professionals and partners build their business, and the place where top talent does the best work of their careers. For a producer who has spent years carrying a firm's reputation into every meeting, that means joining a firm that carries its weight too. Our values are Accountability, Professionalism, Proactivity, Exceeding Expectations, and Education. These aren't aspirational statements; they're the standards we hold ourselves to every day. We serve two customers: partners trust us with their clients, and clients trust us with their decisions. If you've been the person holding the standard at your last firm, here you'll be surrounded by people who hold it with you. Key Responsibilities Activate and Grow Partner Channels Take ownership of Greencrown's existing channel partner relationships - including national and regional associations, consultants, brokers, private equity and portfolio owners, and franchise groups - and turn them into consistent, scalable deal flow. Build joint go-to-market plans with key partners, covering co-selling, referral structures, and regular pipeline reviews, so each partnership produces predictable results. Originate, negotiate, and launch new partnerships that expand Greencrown's reach into new portfolios, verticals, and territories. Originate and Close Personally source, develop, and close new enterprise and multi-facility clients against an individual production target. Lead executive-level conversations with CFOs, owners, and operators about how Greencrown's integrated platform lowers energy spend through procurement strategy, improves visibility through utility data management, reduces demand, and supports decarbonization. Step into complex, high-value opportunities to move stalled deals forward and close them. Represent Greencrown at national industry events, conferences, and association meetings as a senior voice of the firm. Drive Growth with Ownership Work directly with the ownership team to set the annual origination plan, prioritize partners and target markets, and focus effort where the return is highest. Develop relationships and opportunities that ownership brings in, taking them from introduction to close. Deliver accurate weekly and monthly forecasts, keep pipeline and partner activity current in Salesforce, and bring market feedback back to the business. Partner with Greencrown's Operations, Account Management, and Energy Strategy teams to ensure clean handoffs for clients and partners. Build and Lead the Team Build Greencrown's business development team: define the hiring profile, then recruit, onboard, and ramp Business Development Managers as the function grows. Lead by example. Coach and develop Business Development Managers through live deal involvement, pipeline reviews, and call coaching. Build on the Greencrown playbook so that messaging, qualification, and close plans are scalable. Qualifications 10 years in energy procurement, deregulated energy markets, or closely related consultative sales to multi-facility organizations. A documented record of high personal production and consistently exceeding quota. A track record of building channel, referral, and association partnerships that produced durable, repeatable pipeline - not one-time transactions. You bring an active network of industry relationships and a plan to put it to work. Credibility with C-suite and ownership-level decision-makers in multi-facility organizations. Exceptional professionalism, emotional intelligence, and executive presence, with the judgment to represent the firm at the highest levels. Deep command of energy market dynamics, the supplier landscape, and regulatory developments. Experience hiring, coaching, and leading producers, and the drive to build a team from the ground up. A hunter's mentality: competitive, resilient, and comfortable with long, complex sales cycles. Proficiency with Salesforce, ZoomInfo, and modern sales enablement tools. Willingness to travel regularly for client meetings, partner development, and industry events. Why Join Greencrown Energy Established partnerships ready to activate: Existing partners and an established client base give you a launchpad for what you'll build. Build your team: You'll hire and lead the business development team as the function grows. Direct access to ownership: You work side by side with the people who built the firm and have real influence over how Greencrown grows. Pure origination focus: Dedicated Operations, Account Management, and Energy Strategy teams take over once accounts close. Uncapped earnings: Base salary, commission on personal production, and an override on team production. Technology that sells: You sell an integrated offering backed by our energy price monitoring platform, utility data management platform, and thousands of successful transactions, supported by industry-leading sales enablement tools to build pipeline, run outreach, and close business. Benefits: Comprehensive package including medical, vision, and 401(k) with company match. Location: Remote - Mid-Atlantic or Northeast Preferred Greencrown Energy is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
