Independent Group seeking a Neurologist in the Tampa Bay, FL area! Part time contractor role providing Expert Witness services for Spine patients CONTACT: Raymond Stiles About the Group: Our practice is known in the Tampa Bay area as being a leader in medical expert witness services, specifically for Orthopedic / Neuro type cases. One location based in Oldsmar, FL. 20mins from Tampa! The practice has been established in the area since 1994 providing Spine Care Unbiased 2nd surgical opinions. We help provide the patient with a clear picture of whether surgery is even recommended and what the proven surgical options are. Benefits: Position will be a 1099 Independent contractor The physician will make a percentage of all billed and collected services Typical Services (CME/IME exam fees, each page of records reviewed, MRI, CT and X-rays, charges for phone conferences, charges for Depositions based on number of hours, charges for trial). An average case will generate at least $2200 in compensation to the physician expert Larger cases are more time consuming, however the amount of compensation to the physician would be significantly more. About the role: Location based in Oldsmar, FL (20 mins from Tampa!) Seeking a Neurologist Expert Witness Part time position with opportunity to become full time. 1 Day per week doing CME / IME exams Doing on site exams for insurance companies and law firms seeing injured patients as a Medical Expert All admin done for you, flexible and part time, can also do a large portion of the work from home. 2-3 exams per day on average. Exams are 1 hour and the review takes about 2 hours (reviews can be done from home). 3 other physicians in the office Physician review the case materials (records, diagnostic films) prior to the scheduled day in the office. The CME/IME exam is normally 45 mins 1 hour followed by an additional 45 mins to hour to finalize report. Our focus is on producing a work product that is objective, free of bias and is solid in regards to factual content to help our client s achieve their goals. All of the work can be done remotely except for the actual exam which will take place in our office. Shifts/Month: 22 shifts, per provider, per month Board Status: Board Certified SHIFT/SCHEDULE INFORMATION M-Friday 8a-5p Call hours are 5p 8a Schedule Breakdown: If on call, would be on call for the entire week: 8a - 5p clinic Monday Friday, call hours 5p 8a. Call will be approximately 1 week/month. JOB INFORMATION Typical Day: Case mix can vary based on shift assignments; from fully interpreting scans to some procedural (performing and/or supervising). Will work with APPs as well as Residents and Fellows. Diagnostic work only. They do not have to supervise the PA for any procedures. Volume: Approximately 50 cases with a mix of CT/MRI and a mix of ED/IP/OP; probably a third each depending on if the internal Telerad division is taking all of the ED CT work then those ratios will change. Modalities: CT, MRI, occasional x-rays for shunt series, orbital x-ray clearance.
