This position will play a critical role in reorganizing the millwork shop, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and integrating new technologies to increase efficiency and output without sacrificing craftsmanship or safety. This role will also have supervisory responsibility for the maintenance and quality. Responsibilities Lead the strategic reorganization of the plant layout and material flow to reduce waste, improve throughput, increase operational efficiency and position the company for significant growth Collaborate with production leaders, engineers, and craftsmen to assess existing processes and propose actionable layout changes. Gain employees buy-in through transparent communication, feedback loops, and hands-on support during change implementation. To support the growth. Identify, evaluate, and coordinate the integration of new technology or production equipment to support innovation and plant growth. Continuous Improvement. Implement KPI to follow the performance Use the KPI to do projects to increase the efficiency Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs across all machinery and systems (CNCs, dust collection, compressors, etc.). Troubleshoot mechanical and production issues, analyzing equipment failures to determine root causes and corrective actions. Oversee the QC function to ensure all products meet customer specifications, internal standards, and architectural millwork tolerances. Support the development and enforcement of inspection procedures and quality documentation protocols. Work closely with project managers, drafting, and field teams to resolve quality concerns early in the production lifecycle. Qualifications Experience with continuous improvement system(s) Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations. Understanding of architectural woodworking production process. Understanding of equipment used to produce architectural woodworking products (CNCs, finishing systems, and building materials). Continuous Improvement Certification (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, etc.) a plus. An advanced degree such as a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, facilities/plant engineering, industrial management or an associates degree in Carpentry & Cabinetmaking Technology or mechanical or industrial technology. 7 years of experience in plant or technical operations within manufacturing; woodworking or architectural millwork experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated success in leading change management, lean manufacturing, or similar reorganization projects. Proficient in MS Office; experience with maintenance tracking systems, ERP software, or AutoCAD, including 3D / CAM software such as Microvellum a plus. OSHA 30 certification or equivalent preferred.
