Job Details Our client is seeking an attorney with a strong background in tax litigation and controversy, with the added ability to support tax structuring and tax analysis for M&A transactions when necessary. Required Qualifications: J.D. from an accredited law school; LL.M. in Taxation preferred but not required. 4–10 years of experience in tax litigation, tax controversy, or related tax practice areas. Demonstrated experience in: representing clients in IRS audits, appeals, and examinations handling federal and state tax litigation advising on civil and criminal tax issues drafting protests, briefs, petitions, and related filings Strong understanding of federal income taxation, corporate taxation, and partnership structures. Ability to assist with tax components of M&A transactions, including identifying tax risks, supporting deal structure, and advising during due diligence. Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and courtroom advocacy skills. Ability to communicate complex tax issues to clients and colleagues in practical, business‑focused terms. A proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset with a desire to contribute meaningfully to a collaborative team. Preferred Attributes Prior experience in a tax‑focused law firm, Big Four accounting firm, or government tax authority. Familiarity with high‑net‑worth and closely held business tax matters.
