RESPONSIBILITIES : Under the direction of the Medical Director, the physician will perform medical services. The Physician Pediatrician will examine, perform diagnosis, and treat patients who come to the clinic for acute medical care. Determines the necessity for referral and refers persons requiring special diagnostic procedures and treatments to appropriate sources; discuss findings with external providers; supervise up to four (4) mid-level providers the work of physician assistants and nurse practitioners assigned. Maintain EHR patient records. Diagnose and treats common health problems; advise and counsel patients of developmental and maturational issues. Identifies, intervenes and provides information for the patient, enabling the patient to make informed decisions and incorporates measures to improve health status. Considers individual cultural, psychological, social, and environmental factors; provides referrals and coordinates patient services to promote continuity of care at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels; collaborates and consults closely with other physicians on behalf of patients; responds to patient medical emergencies in life threatening situations. For Pediatric providers, they will assess the growth and development of children 0-18 years and must track and administer immunizations on a schedule. S/he must be able to communicate well with parents and children. The physician will participate in QA/QI, QM, and Peer Review meetings. At minimum, s/he will attend ongoing trainings in using the EHR system, PCMH and attend CMEs. S/he will review quality measures and patient satisfaction surveys and implement necessary improvement plans to reach required thresholds. S/he will perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS : Knowledge of the Board Certified principles and practices of modern medicine including preventive medicine. Mature judgment, tact, discretion and confidentiality are mandatory. Position requires a professional, pleasant and effective representation of the corporation. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
