Sr. Vehicle Maintenance Technician/DOT/CDL

Provides timely, quality maintenance for FedEx vehicle fleet and ground support equipment which requires preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and documentation. Documents work and maintains adequate inventory using FedEx computer systems. Ensures work is in accordance with OSHA and DOT standards. Guides and supports a staff of technicians and trainees. Knowledge of CAD software applications and CNC programming experience. Ability to read blueprints and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work unsupervised. Ability to make or modify tooling and/or fixturing to machine parts. Strategic and creative thinking for issue analysis and solution creation. Ability to write, edit, and troubleshoot programs at the machine control. Mechanical aptitude; use a variety of hand tools and basic power tools. Ability to MIG weld, preferred. Respond positively to feedback and implement process changes as needed. Work effectively in a fast-paced environment. High-level interpersonal skills to meet production demands. Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to contribute actively. Effectively work with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization. Good written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Excel and formal ERP systems, or ability to learn new software. Physical Demands: Regularly stand for 6 hours at a time with minimal breaks. Regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Operate machinery, including CNCs. Wear safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toe shoes with metatarsals, and a face shield. Be on-site during scheduled shift to perform duties and responsibilities. Daily face-to-face interaction with employees on the production line. Work Environment: Work in an ambient temperature production environment (60-90 degrees F). Exposure to loud noise.
