As an integral member of the perioperative team, the Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in supporting surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nursing staff to ensure optimal surgical outcomes and an exceptional patient experience. Surgical Technologists are responsible for preparing the operating room for procedures, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile, functional, and available. They maintain strict adherence to sterile technique, anticipate the needs of the surgical team, and provide support throughout the procedure. Responsibilities also include assembling and organizing sterile fields, handling instruments and specimens, assisting with room turnover, and contributing to safe patient positioning and care throughout the operative process. The OR environment requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to remain focused under pressure while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
