Nurse Practitioner - Internal Medicine
Department/Unit: PCI - Internal Medicine Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: The Division of Internal Medicine at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient, academic clinic. This role focuses on delivering high-quality primary care to an established patient population while working closely with physicians, pharmacists, and other members of an interdisciplinary care team. Position OverviewThe Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary care services to adult patients in an outpatient Internal Medicine setting. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and teamwork within an academic environment. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive primary care services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions Conduct patient visits, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications in accordance with scope of practice Manage preventive care, health maintenance, and patient education Collaborate closely with attending physicians, nursing staff, and care coordinators Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration, including quality improvement initiatives with the pharmacy team Document care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement Participate in academic activities, including the potential to precept Nurse Practitioner students Qualifications Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program License and active registration as a registered nurse/nurse practitioner in New York State Prior experience in primary care or Internal Medicine strongly preferred Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills Interest in academic practice, teaching, and collaborative care models Commitment to patient-centered, high-quality care We offer a highly competitive benefits package, including: Competitive base salary range $114,730-$134,976 with additional incentive bonus opportunity Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision) Generous paid time off and holiday schedule Albany Med retirement plan plus a 403(b) Annual CME allowance and dedicated CME time Occurrence-based malpractice coverage Employee wellness programs and mental health support Albany Medical Center is the centerpiece of medicine, research, and medical education in New York’s Capital Region and is the area's largest private employer with more than 10,000 employees.
