Corporate Controller
Corporate Controller - Upper Marlboro, MD Overview Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Washington, DC in their search for a Corporate Controller to join their team. This fully onsite role is responsible for leading all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls while partnering with executive leadership to drive strategic financial initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise and the ability to build scalable processes in a high-growth environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, revenue recognition, and cost accounting. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Prepare and present financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis to executive leadership. Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial planning activities. Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, including tax and audit support. Develop and enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and business intelligence capabilities. Establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while supporting organizational growth. Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Advanced degree and/or CPA strongly preferred. Strong expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and financial analysis. Experience with Sage Intacct and Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas) preferred. Background in blue-collar industries is a plus. Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work onsite.
