Job Description \n \n \n \n We’re looking for board-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine physicians to join a high-performing team in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina—one of the fastest-growing counties in the U.S. As part of an exciting expansion to meet growing community needs, two brand-new, state-of-the-art Free-Standing Emergency Departments (FSEDs) are being launched. \n \n \n 12-bed FSED opening August 2026 \n 8-bed FSED opening late 2026 in the growing Socastee area \n \n This is a rare opportunity to work in a community-focused, innovation-driven healthcare setting that combines high-acuity emergency medicine with lifestyle-oriented scheduling and long-term career growth. \n \n Schedule & Workload \n \n 120 hours/month minimum (12-hour shifts); additional shifts available with no cap \n Flexible rotations between the main Emergency Department and FSEDs \n Average patient volume: 1.8–2 patients/hour \n Main ED daily coverage: 4 physicians & 3 APPs \n No call responsibilities \n Shift scheduling supports work-life balance and sustainability \n \n Facility Highlights \n \n Advanced FSEDs equipped with full lab, X-ray, CT, and ultrasound \n Integrated multispecialty facility at the Socastee location \n Cerner EMR with Dragon Dictation for streamlined documentation \n Closed ICU with 24/7 in-house intensivist support \n On-call surgicalists to support ED needs \n Designated Chest Pain Center with STEMI alert protocols and 24/7 interventional cardiology \n \n Clinical Excellence \n \n Level III Trauma Center \n Annual ED volume: 50,000 visits \n Low transfer rate (~2%) with well-established protocols for high-acuity transfers \n Opportunities to mentor residents and medical students (clinical teaching only—no lecture obligations) \n \n Compensation & Benefits \n \n Generous hourly pay \n Comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage \n Retirement plan with 4% employer match \n CME allowance: $3,000 annually \n Malpractice & Tail Coverage provided \n Licensing and credentialing fees covered \n Eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) \n No residency proximity requirement \n \n Community Details: \n Located in a vibrant and rapidly growing region of coastal South Carolina, this area offers an exceptional quality of life with a cost of living 9.1% below the national average.
