Registered Respiratory Therapist - FT CMFHS Main Hospital

Description Summary: Responsible for the pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under the direction of a physician with minimal supervision. Performs patient assessments and institutes respiratory care plans. Performs various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures in all areas of the hospital. Responsibilities: Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Include, but are not limited to: Emergency (Code Blue and White) response; Airway management including nasotracheal & endotracheal suctioning; Delivery of aerosolized drugs; Ventilator management (i.e. setup and operation); Oral hygiene; Airway retaining device placement and maintenance; Airway support device management including BiPAP and CPAP devices; Oxygen delivery devices and therapeutic monitoring; Chest film analysis; Bloodgas collection and analysis; EKG analysis; Accurate and complete documentation; Cleaning and stocking of equipment and supplies as necessary; Participate in CAP and JC surveys. RRTs may function as Shift Leader or serve in the capacity of Team Leader Advanced practice skills may include: Therapeutic gas management and monitoring, including INO and HeO2; Pulmonary Function Testing; Bronchoscopy assist; Hemodynamic Monitoring; Waveform analysis; Nocturnal SpO2 evaluation (Desaturation Studies); Polysomnography; Transport duties. Electroencephalogram Technician Senior - Imaging Neurophys EEG

Description Summary: With minimum supervision performs EEGs, Nerve Conduction Studies, EMGs, and related exams within the department. The EEG Tech Senior is also responsible for the physician billing for the department. Assist physicians with preliminary reports and during interpretation. Assist in other areas of the department, when available, in a friendly and helpful manner. Responsibilities: Meets the expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Performs Quantitative EEG, EEG, Evoked Potentials and Transcranial Doppler. Working knowledge to set up, monitor, download, and edit raw data for long-term video EEG monitoring. Performs EKGs utilizing the Marquette MAC VU, 12, 8, and PC machines. Performs electrocardiograms for in-patient and outpatient populations including all ages. Performs routine EEGs and long-term video EEG monitoring for evaluation of possible abnormal brain activity and for epilepsy and medicine modification. Performs Transcranial Doppler studies for evaluation of cerebral blood flow. Performs accurate Evoked Potential recording (Visual Evoked Responses, and Modified Baer). Performs Holter monitor hookup and the scanning of Holter monitor tapes. Performs 12 or 24-hour pneumogram hook-up with or without pulse oximetry for in-patient pediatrics and neonates. Performs cardiac exercise treadmill testing, routine, and pharmacological and Tilt table stress. Schedules all patients for any and all procedures performed in the department that require an appointment. Maintains all diagnostic equipment by assuring that they are properly functioning and cleaned after every patient. Notifies physician daily for exam interpretation and files reports. Checks weekly for needed supplies. Requirements: Education/Skills Completion of the Medical Assistant Program or one year of career-oriented college credits (24 credit hours) is preferred Experience 2 years of experience in performing EEG in a clinical setting is required 1 year of experience with EKG/Stress testing preferred Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications BLS required In accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates are required to obtain the required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame.
