Job Description Job Description We are looking for woodworking shop mechanics to become a part of our team. Work occurs in our shop in Norfolk. You will be provided with your own work space and bench. However, we request that your standard tools to carry out day to day tasks are your own. We believe these include a tape measure and cordless drill at minimum. We reward those who show interest and aptitude in their assigned task. There is opportunity for advancement. Work hours are 7:00-4:30 Monday-Thursday. Friday hours are 7:00-11:00 during 40 hour work weeks for shop employees. During periods of overtime, work on Friday is 7:00-3:30. Saturday will be the same. This tends to be on a 2 week on OT, 1 week off OT basis if required. Responsibilities: Creating custom millwork pieces based upon architectural and in house shop drawings Products can range from cabinetry, paneling, desks, planters, benches, or display cases Each job is custom. Rarely do we build the same things twice Coordinating with shop foreman and PM to effectively complete each project Qualifications: Experience with wood working machinery. Examples are wood planer, joiner, shaper, table saws, and bandsaw As stated above, we expect at minimum that a tape measure and cordless drill be provided by the employee Work boots with steel toe are to be worn in the shop at all times 1 pair of jeans should be brought to work in the event that a job site trip is required.

This candidate will report directly to the Shop Supervisor. The setup machinist role consists of the following responsibilities: Review detailed manufacturing prints Create and or edit G-Code at the machine Setup jobs with any necessary programming and fixturing Setup the machine with required tooling Run the machine while checking for machine errors and part non-conformance Make adjustments to offset coordinates to compensate for materials, tooling or machine center conditions. Inspect parts for adherence to print dimensions and tolerances Work independently with minimal direction from senior operations staff to setup jobs, perform machining functions, and troubleshoot machining related issues Work with machine operators to had off the routine part production in order to move on to setting up additional machines Load and unload parts into the machines weighing up to 30lbs Enters data into ERP system.
