Quality Assurance (QA) Technician (Certified Welding Instructor Certification) JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The Quality Assurance Technician "QA Tech" plays a pivotal role in ensuring the adherence to stringent quality standards and specifications within Choctaw Defense Manufacturing. This role diligently inspects raw materials, in-process components, and finished products, employing a diverse array of precision instruments to validate dimensional accuracy and functionality. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform routine inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.Conduct thorough quality control checks throughout the manufacturing process, including visual inspections, measurements, and functional tests.Document and report any deviations from quality standards and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions.Methodically inspect hardware across assemblies, subassemblies, and individual parts to confirm correct installation and alignment, safeguarding product integrity.Maintain accurate records of inspection results, test data, and quality documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in quality improvement initiatives.Calibrate and maintain testing equipment and instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability. Assist in the investigation of customer complaints or quality issues, contributing to root cause analysis and resolution.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, management, and supply chain to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to quality standards.Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge of quality assurance principles, industry standards, and relevant technologies.Perform In Process Audits (IPA) and In Process Checks (IPC) as mandated by the Quality Management System, ensuring adherence to quality protocols throughout the manufacturing process.Scrutinize units against specified project standards with exacting precision, ensuring alignment with quality benchmarks, and promptly addressing detected deviations.Employ a diverse array of precision measuring instruments to precisely assess parts and components, to meticulously verify dimensional accuracy against specified project criteria.Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all instruments used for inspection and testing purposes, ensuring calibration and operational integrity.Collaborate closely with the disposition team to address instances of non-conforming products, ensuring diligent transfer out of the material review area in strict adherence to federal guidelines.Undertake Internal Quality Audits to systematically evaluate compliance with quality management systems, pinpointing areas for enhancement and implementing requisite corrective measures with precision and diligence.All other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Capacity to analyze data, identify trends, and interpret quality metrics to detect deviations and potential areas for improvement.Proficiency in using a variety of measurement tools, testing equipment, and software systems to accurately conduct quality tests and assessments.Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate quality requirements, issues, and solutions with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and management.Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from various departments to ensure alignment related to quality standards, processes, and improvement initiatives.Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, production schedules, and quality requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS), and Quality Assurance Methodologies (QAM).Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Willingness to learn and undergo training on specific procedures and equipment as required by the role.Familiarity in reading and interpreting technical drawings, diagrams, and blueprints.Strong mathematical acumen, enabling accurate measurements and precise calculations essential for quality assurance processes.Thorough comprehension of workplace health and safety regulations to mitigate the risk of workplace accidents, ensuring a secure and compliant operational environment. REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma, vocational/technical certificate, or: Minimum two (2) years' experience working in quality assurance or related field.Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
