This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in Operating Room (OR) nursing seeking a contract position in Cibolo, TX. The role involves working in a surgery unit that supports a range of procedures and requires strong clinical skills, flexibility, and a dedicated approach to patient care. Location: Situated near Cibolo, TX, this assignment serves a surgical unit equipped with five ORs and a dynamic team of full-time, part-time, and PRN nurses, as well as surgical technicians. The surgical unit focuses on procedures including orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, robotics, urology, vascular, cardiovascular, neuro, and thoracic cases. Operating rooms are outfitted with up-to-date surgical technology, including cautery, video monitoring, arthroscopy, and positioning equipment. The unit maintains a 1:1 patient-to-nurse ratio supporting specialized, attentive care. Responsibilities: Serve as an OR circulator, ensuring smooth flow and safety during surgical procedures Collaborate with surgical teams to prepare the operating environment and equipment Provide compassionate and flexible patient care across various surgical specialties Participate in a rotating call schedule requiring night and weekend shifts Comply with hospital policies and maintain a high standard of scrub attire provided by the facility Qualifications: Active RN license with specific experience in Operating Room nursing Current BLS and ACLS certifications (mandatory) Experience preferred in orthopedics, robotics, urology, and other surgical specialties mentioned Ability to fulfill rotating call requirements: minimum one weeknight and one weekend per five-week schedule Strong teamwork, flexibility, and a compassionate approach to patient care Schedule: Rotating call shifts including one night per week and at least one weekend every five weeks This contract role offers a chance to work in a well-supported surgical environment while enhancing your expertise across multiple specialties.
