Overview Provides clinical leadership to promote increased compliance with a range of quality and cost measures and standards of care. Manages service delivery of inter-professional and para-professional team members working on an individual case or population of cases. Overview: Department: Emergency Department Shift: Night Shift, 12-Hour Full-Time The Emergency Department RN provides safe, high-quality patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The ED RN delivers direct patient care, guides support staff, and provides patient and family education while maintaining professional nursing standards. This role is accountable for patient care in a fast-paced, acute care environment and works closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department during night shift, including triage, assessment, monitoring, and interventions. Apply the nursing process to develop and implement individualized care plans. Monitor patient condition, vital signs, and telemetry; respond rapidly to changes. Communicate patient status, diagnostic results, and treatment plans with physicians and the care team. Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions per orders and protocols. Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, discharge instructions, and follow-up. Supervise and coordinate LVNs/LPNs and nursing assistants as needed. Maintain accurate EMR documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards. Ensure EMTALA compliance and report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies. Participate in emergency response, trauma resuscitation, and critical care stabilization. Support patient safety initiatives and evidence-based emergency nursing practices.
