Medical Lab Scientist in the Cytogenetics Lab at Duke University Hospital. Monday - Friday, 11:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., with participation in a weekend rotation. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you’ll work independently with minimal supervision to perform advanced genetic testing. Responsibilities include tissue culture (blood, bone marrow, amniotic fluid, and more), chromosome harvesting, slide preparation, staining, plasma cell separation, and microscopic analysis. You’ll also conduct karyotyping using Applied Spectral Imaging systems, perform FISH wet-lab and analysis, and collaborate with healthcare professionals. Ideal candidates have experience in bone marrow microscopy (preferred), strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and compliance. Training will be provided for less experienced areas. This position is eligible for a $5,000 commitment bonus for a 1-year commitment. General Description Perform a variety of routine and complex technical tasks in the performance of laboratory tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Job duties are dependent on the laboratory and may be composed of a combination of the following duties and responsibilities related to the specialization. Tasks are performed according to written procedures and policies with careful monitoring of quality control and quality assurance practices. Work Performed Perform a variety of tests in clinical laboratories using standard techniques and equipment Perform related duties in the laboratory to include specimen handling, using manual and automatic equipment to test specimens, and performing and reporting analytical tests. Operate manual or computerized instrumentation. Calibrate and maintain instrumentation according to standard operating procedure. Process patient samples for testing using appropriate identification techniques and written procedures to ensure quality material for testing. Perform basic troubleshooting of assay problems as directed by senior staff. Communicate problems/issues to appropriate individuals. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment. Participate in the development of new medical laboratory tests and techniques. Participate in the preparation for lab inspections. Review lab inspection documents and procedures to maintain knowledge. Bring any non-compliance issues to the attention of upper-level staff. Perform proficiency testing as directed to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies. Document quality control and quality assurance results. Notify upper-level personnel of instrument malfunctions or unusual or unexpected data or results. Review written procedures and policies for accuracy and submit changes to the manager or designee. Understand, comply, and perform all necessary safety procedures. Maintain compliance with safety training. Report all safety incidents within 24 hours. Attend all laboratory meetings, safety, and compliance training as required. Comply with competency testing procedures for the laboratory staff. Comply with laboratory training programs. May provide technical guidance and instruction to students, interns, residents, staff, and other employees. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. PURPOSE: To furnish quality major and minor in-house repairs to the Reefer fleet in a timely and efficient manner, while complying with Marten Transport, Ltd. policy and procedure. RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of all equipment which includes high quality and low cost completed in a timely manner to meet fleet cost per mile goals. We are looking for Restaurant General Managers (RGM) to join our team. Our restaurants are staffed with amazing people, and we are looking for more. The RGM leads the operation of the restaurants and has the overall responsibility for making sure the restaurant meets GPS Hospitality standards of quality, service and cleanliness. The RGM does not do this alone, as they work with a team of managers. RGM's bonus on performance, both operationally and financially. Here are the top five (5) responsibilities of the job: • (P&L) Hit Your Sales and Profit Budget Every Period • (Systems) Execute Accurate Projections and Schedules While Working All Shifts • (Safety) Maintain a Safe and Clean Restaurant • (People) Hire and Train Service Obsessed Crew and Shift Leaders • (Accounting) Tight Restaurant Controls Additional Job Duties: • Ensure team provides outstanding service and satisfied guests. • Hire, train and coach the restaurant team. • Utilize GPS Hospitality Systems to run a high-quality restaurant, especially accurate projections and great schedules. • Implement restaurant controls, especially cash & inventory. • Frequent contact, both inside and outside the restaurant, with the public, business, and various community organizations to develop and improve the restaurant’s public relations. • Meet standards for speed of service, food safety and cleanliness. • Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills. • Maintain a clean and safe working environment and ensure all equipment is clean and maintained. • Work all shifts (breakfast, lunch, dinner late night & weekends) each week.
