Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Madison, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity available in a Level 1 Trauma Center and Magnet-designated hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. This position involves delivering high-quality critical care to adult patient populations across various specialty ICU units, including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, and Trauma ICU, with shifts occurring predominantly during night hours. Job Details Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements: Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), at least 5 years of recent inpatient ICU experience, with a minimum of two years in the specialty area within the last 3 years. Schedule: Night shifts, 8/12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Skills and Experience: Experience with multiple ICU specialty units (Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic, Burn ICU, Trauma Surgery), adult population critical care, Basic Arrhythmia recognition, proficiency in managing ports, arterial lines, ventilator management, and cardiac drips. Must pass a telemetry test prior to start. Additional Qualifications: Must be competent in multiple ICU specialties; telemetry exam with two attempts for passing is required. Unit Details: Involves high-acuity patient care with interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams. Will float to various ICU units, including Neuro ICU, CV/CT ICU, Burn, Trauma, MSICU, IMCProgressive unit. Location: University Hospital, Madison, WI 53792, with parking permit required through UW Transportation.
