Now you want to build the skills to plan and manage an event from its first conversation to its final follow-up. As our Assistant Production Manager, you'll support our established PM team and take meaningful ownership of advancing and event execution while learning how PBP develops technical plans, scopes, and quotes. This role calls for someone who already brings sound judgment and experience leading live work. WHO WE ARE Park Boulevard Productions brings creativity, technical expertise, and care to live events, broadcasts, and audiovisual system design and integration. Our work includes corporate events, panels, galas, and programs for cultural and educational institutions. We build lasting client relationships by understanding what people want to accomplish and finding thoughtful, practical ways to make it happen. From our new Long Island City home, we're growing the connections between event production, systems design, and creative services. What we learn on a show informs what we design, and knowing a client's space helps us produce better events. You'll help carry that understanding from one project to the next. WHAT YOU WILL DO Working with our PMs, Operations, and technical team, you'll help keep multiple productions moving and give the department more capacity to own PBP's event work. You'll be a capable client contact and team leader, with an assigned PM supporting each project. Participate in client conversations and site visits; capture goals, confirm details, and keep decisions and open questions organized. Own assigned parts of the advance: schedules, crew communications, venue coordination, equipment and vendor confirmations, and production documents. Coordinate onsite teams and serve as the client contact on assigned events. After a clear handoff, take over from a PM on shows or portions of shows within your experience and agreed authority. Track changes, costs, and outstanding items. Help with client follow-up, reconciliation, and debriefs so each event is properly closed out. Build scopes, quotes, and event plans with PM guidance and review, taking greater ownership as your knowledge and experience develop. WHAT YOU BRING Hands-on experience coordinating live events or productions, with real responsibility for clients or stakeholders, teams, schedules, and changing priorities. Strong organization and follow-through across several projects, including accurate documents, clear delegation, and timely communication. Enough familiarity with production and AV workflows to coordinate specialists, spot missing information, and understand when a decision needs their input. Practical judgment about what you can resolve, what needs approval, and when to ask for help, along with curiosity and openness to feedback. Stage managers, production managers, event coordinators, and project managers with event experience are welcome. Corporate events, broadcast, vendor coordination, budget tracking, and production software experience are helpful. Tell us what you've actually been responsible for; a particular title or career path isn't required. ROOM TO LEARN, GROW, AND CONTRIBUTE You can arrive still developing your ability to design a complete event, choose among technical solutions, or prepare a client-ready quote. You'll learn PBP's offerings through collaboration, guided project work, and feedback. Initially, the lead PM retains overall responsibility for the scope, technical plan, and budget. As you demonstrate readiness, you can own more of the lifecycle and work toward a PM role. We'll discuss your interests and development as you grow; progression will reflect your demonstrated capability and the company's needs. HOW WE WORK TOGETHER Make clients and colleagues want to work with us again through care and follow-through. Start with the client and audience experience when choosing a solution. Make room for each person's individuality, ingenuity, and perspective. Question familiar approaches when there's a better way. Treat everyone with integrity and respect, including when plans change or pressure rises. COMPENSATION, BENEFITS, AND WORKING ARRANGEMENTS We offer an annual base salary of $68,000–$76,000, based on relevant experience, along with health insurance benefits, an employer-matching 401(k) retirement plan, flexible and generous paid time off, and training and continuing education opportunities. This full-time role combines work from our Long Island City office with site visits, client meetings, and events across New York City. Some planning and administrative work can be done remotely, coordinated with the team and project needs. Event schedules include early starts, evenings, weekends, and occasional days of 12 hours or more; spring and fall are typically busiest. We value work-life balance and discuss workload openly, including how to balance busy periods with time away. HOW TO APPLY Send your résumé and a brief note to [email protected]. Tell us what draws you to PBP, describe a production you helped lead and what you owned, and share what you'd like to learn next. A few thoughtful paragraphs are plenty. We’re adding one person to our production management team. We’re also considering candidates through our separate Live Event Production Manager posting, which outlines that role’s responsibilities and compensation. Please apply once and let us know if you would like to be considered for either role. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds and perspectives. If this sounds like your kind of work and you bring the core experience, we'd like to hear from you.
