Position Overview: As a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Oncology, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. Your expertise will support patients through their diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, ensuring they receive compassionate and evidence-based care in a dynamic hospital environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care for oncology patients receiving systemic therapies such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatments. Monitor and manage adverse reactions, including neutropenia, extravasation, and other treatment-related complications. Assess and address symptom burdens such as nausea, pain, mucositis, and fatigue through evidence-based nursing interventions. Maintain and care for central venous access devices, including PICCs, ports, and tunneled catheters, following institutional protocols. Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary oncology team to develop and adjust individualized care plans. Offer emotional support and education to patients and their families, guiding them through diagnosis, treatment options, and goals of care. Document patient care activities accurately and ensure adherence to safety standards and infection control policies. Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program. Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology or medical-surgical nursing. Current and valid Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) credential preferred. Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification (ONS) preferred. Strong clinical assessment skills, compassion, and excellent communication abilities.
