Our products need to handle information at massive scale and extend well beyond web search. We are looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large‑scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile. As a software engineer you will work on a specific проект critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as our fast‑paced business grows. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions while managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We own and advocate for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation across the company. The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $166,000–$244,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Compensation details reflect only the base salary; additional rewards come from bonus and equity plans. Salary depends on role, level, location, and individual qualifications. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin, or Go. 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field. 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role. Experience developing accessible technologies. Responsibilities Write and test product or system development code. Participate in, or lead, design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide on available technologies. Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (style guidelines, code quality, testability, and efficiency). Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product or program updates and user feedback. Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing sources of issues and impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
