Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection of neurosurgical patients with an understanding of potential complications related to surgical subspecialty treatments. Develops and implements specialty focused patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provisions of continuity of care. Instructs and counsels surgical subspecialty patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance. In conjunction with the medical staff, develops and maintains all requirements related to regulatory agencies of the local, state, and federal governments.
