Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Game Engineering Details The Division of Games at the University of Utah invites applications for non-tenure-track career-line Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Games to begin Fall 2026. We seek applicants with expertise in at least one area of game engineering. Of particular interest to the Division are candidates with expertise in gameplay programming, engine architecture, real-time rendering, and/or artificial intelligence. Necessary qualifications: Applicants for career-line, lecturer positions should hold a terminal degree in a games-related field with a focus on games engineering(e.g., Ph.D. in Computer Science or Informatics, MEAE engineering track). Successful candidates are expected to teach in-person courses across the B.S. in Games and the Master's of Entertainment Arts & Engineering (MEAE) curriculum to students on the Salt Lake City Campus. As such, successful applicants will have a broad knowledge of the practical aspects of game development. In addition to teaching, candidates are also expected to contribute to university and professional service, e.g. collaborative work to expand our curriculum, outreach to local industry and government partners, or recruitment efforts. Candidates must be able to (1) identify expertise in at least one area of Game Engineering, (2) provide evidence of contribution to creative works in interdisciplinary teams , and (3) demonstrate commitment to the teaching and/or mentoring, especially with undergraduate and graduate students in lectures, seminars, and studio simulations. Position Purpose: The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing a wide range of skilled maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of facility systems. This position leads daily maintenance operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building upkeep. The Lead Technician serves as a hands-on expert and provides guidance to maintenance staff, ensuring work is performed in compliance with safety standards, regulatory codes, and organizational policies. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for all building occupants. Primary Duties: Lead and perform the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems. Perform general maintenance duties including carpentry, painting, and minor construction tasks. Provide technical guidance to other maintenance staff and ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently in compliance with applicable codes and standards. Reconfigures, installs, positions, and remounts' modular office and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks. Interacts with contractors who perform maintenance and services for VersAbility Resources when necessary. Assists with fire safety and training for VersAbilitys facilities. Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations using a pre-established check sheet. Assist in evaluating short/long term needs in relation to major projects and property improvements. Attends and participates in training opportunities and seminars relevant to this position.
