Job Description Job Description Estimator The Estimator ensures the success of assigned estimates by overseeing all activities from planning to procurement. They provide estimates, manage budgets, bid coverage, and oversee procurement during the pre-construction and construction phases of a project across all scopes. Estimates vary from conceptual to lump sum bids. Salary $100,000.00 to $150,000.00 *Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience and qualifications. Fire Sprinkler Estimator / Estimating Coordinator / Salesperson

Job Description Job Description A&F Fire Protection Co Inc is a seasoned and veteran fire protection contractor in the greater New York Metropolitan and Long Island area. With over 60 years of experience in the fire protection industry and representation with NFPA, NFSA, and AFSA; as well as the Long Island and New York Mechanical Contractor’s Association, licensure in New York, New Jersey, and Florida, A&F represents a hallmark in the industry and is looking to expand its business with the aquation of talented personnel, looking to contribute to the mission and development of the business and industry. Performing fire sprinkler design and installations, fire sprinkler inspections, service, maintenance and repairs for customers of varying industries throughout the 5 boroughs, Long Island, Lower-Upstate New York, Northern New Jersey, and South-Eastern Florida. Personnel for these positions should be locally based and anticipate working from the main office daily. Our main office is located in West Babylon, New York (Suffolk County), we occupy a 14,000 square foot fabrication warehouse and office space. With over 50 employees currently on staff we are looking for quality additions to our estimating department. We currently see to fill at-least three positions for an E stimator specializing in fire sprinkler who will be responsible for take-offs, costing, design-build pricing and estimate/proposal preparation; an Estimating Coordinator to lead and head-up the mining of new bid opportunities, assist in the clerical preparation and distribution of proposals, tracking of proposals and bid results, and follow-up with potential and current customers; and finally a Salesperson/Customer Representative with construction (preferably fire protection experience) who will be tasked with sourcing new bid opportunities for the fire sprinkler installation, inspection, and service business lines alike. The Estimating Coordinator should be experienced in construction estimating, with preferable exposure and experience to fire sprinkler. Able to mine through existing resources and web based data for strong bid and proposal opportunities. Computer proficiency is essential and the ability to establish good working procedures for the preparation of bid drawings, bid specifications, and bid data required for the estimators to prepare proper quotations. Additionally, strong time management skills and tracking skills to ensure that bids are submitted timely, followed up regularly, and results tracked. Must be able to evaluate good quality information and assist the estimators as needed to ensure proper bid proposal preparation. Will be required to commute to general contractor or customer locations for bid walk throughs, proposal submissions, or document delivery/pickup. The role is the cornerstone of the estimating department and will be responsible for “quarterbacking” the successful operation therewith. Good communication skills are required to foster strong customer relationships and solicit new opportunities as well. Salary and benefits commensurate with experience, range for the position is between $60,000 and $110,000 per annum, health and retirement benefits, union benefits, and other expenses/benefits paid. The Estimator should be experienced in Fire Sprinkler and Fire Standpipe Systems. Able to do basic layout for design build projects, as well as take-off for pre-designed or pre-supplied bid plans. Candidates will be required to make job-site walkthrough and site visits as needed for new proposals, as well as existing projects for change order or bulletin modifications. They should be able to assess existing structures where fire sprinkler modification is being performed and be able to assemble a proposal accordingly. Must be able to analyze proper code coverage on new plan layouts and existing system layout modifications as presented. Good communication skills are required to foster strong customer relationships and solicit new opportunities as well. Salary and benefits commensurate with experience, range for the position is between $75,000 and $125,000 per annum, health and retirement benefits, union benefits, and other expenses/benefits paid. The Salesperson/Customer Representative is responsible for promoting and selling fire sprinkler systems to general contractors and end users within our designated operations area. This role involves providing the estimating department with quality leads and bid opportunities in order to quote fire sprinkler systems for various facilities, establishing and maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction. In addition the position will also work with the ITM (Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance) department to grow the reach of that customer base simultaneously. The representative will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring travel to customer sites and a focus on sales and customer service. Should be familiar with fire sprinkler protection, fire sprinkler systems, normal operating procedures of the construction environment, and strong professional communication skills, as well as fire sprinkler technical knowledge. Must be able to visit job sites on a daily basis and report back to the office with measurable results.
