Position Summary Reporting to the Managing Counsel – Education Affairs & Governance, this position provides independent legal counsel and advice on complex research‑related matters at the University of California. The Principal Counsel advises on research integrity, human subjects, animal welfare, export controls, contract and grant regulations, conflict of interest, safety, security and other university policies. The role also collaborates with UC Legal and campus stakeholders in investigations and regulatory inquiries and may represent the university in governmental enforcement actions.
