Montefiore Medical Center's distinguished Gastroenterologists perform approximately 14,000 procedures annually, using the most advanced endoscopy and colonoscopy technology to treat disorders of the digestive system. Advanced therapeutics not required, though welcome. All GI procedures are done. GI inpatient care strictly consultative. Consult service staffed by GI fellows at all times and supervised by all faculty members on a rotating basis. Generally, ranges from 3-8 new consults per day. Inpatient consult service coverage 5-6 weeks per year. Fellow endoscopy coverage 1-2 -day sessions per week.
