Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of North Carolina and has prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board. BLS for Healthcare Provider and PALS from AHA is required with an expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. NRP from AAP required with an expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and concentrate. Nurse Practitioner: Masters degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse is required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body is required. The nurse practitioner must have ACNP, CPNP-AC, or PNP-AC board certification required based on the population served (non-acute care certified NPs are not eligible for this position). Physician Assistant: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program is required. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred. Patient Population Served Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served. Protected Health Information Will limit access to protected health information (PHI) to the information reasonably necessary to do the job. Will share information only on a need to know basis for work purposes. Access to verbal, written and electronic PHI for this job has been determined based on job level and job responsibility within the organization.
