Solution Sales Engineer - (SoftwareServices) (United States)

Solutions Sales Engineer CloudLex | Remote, United States | Full time About CloudLex CloudLex is a legal technology and AI company. For more than a decade we have built one connected system for law firms: a cloud platform that runs the firm’s cases from start to finish, Lexee AI, which is purpose-built AI that reasons over the firm’s own case data, and Managed Services, where our specialists work alongside the firm’s team. The role We are looking for a technical seller who leads with diagnosis, not a demonstration. You will own opportunities with our larger law firm clients from the first conversation to the signed agreement. These firms come to us through our marketing, often with several offices, several practice areas, and a set of tools they have outgrown. Typical deal is a $50,000 contract. Your job is to understand how each firm’s work actually moves today, where it stalls, and what that costs, and then to design and present one solution that brings together our platform and its modules, our Managed Services, and Lexee AI. This is not a role for a standard product tour. Every engagement is shaped around the firm in front of you. What you will do Prepare . Study each firm before the first conversation: its people, its practice areas, its offices, and the systems it uses today. Diagnose. Lead discovery conversations with partners, firm administrators, and staff to understand how work flows through the firm, who does it, and where it breaks down. Solve . Work with our technology, product, and services teams to create a solution, deciding which parts of the firm’s problem are solved by configuring our platform, which by Managed Services, and which by Lexee AI, and explaining why. Demonstrate. Show the firm its own problems solved, using its own case types and steps. Propose and close. Write a proposal that reads as a plan, guide a decision with several people involved, and see it through to a signed agreement and a clean handoff to our implementation team. Work with AI . Use AI throughout your own work: researching firms, preparing conversations, analyzing a firm’s current tools and data, and following up. Work across teams . Partner with our technology team, and implementation team on scoping and demonstrations. . Who we are looking for This role is for you if you are a sales engineer, solutions consultant, or technical account executive who wants to own the sale, or an implementation consultant ready to move into selling. You have at least 4 years of experience in technical sales, pre-sales, or implementation of software, services, or both. You are hands on with tech and explain how an integration works. You have sold a combination of software and services, and you can explain how you designed the combination. You understand how businesses run day to day, and you think in terms of workflows, people, and cost, not features. You can read a prospect’s current tools and understand what moving away from them involves, including data migration and integrations. You are comfortable leading a conversation with a firm’s partners and administrators, and you hold your position on price. You use AI in your own work and have built or automated something with it on your own initiative. Your background is technical, mathematical, or operational. Experience selling to law firms is welcome and not required. Experience limited to fast, demo-led software sales is not what we are looking for. Experience limited to large enterprise deals, with long procurement cycles and large account teams, is not what we are looking for. Compensation Base salary of $90,000 to $120,000, plus a performance bonus tied to agreed measures. How to apply Apply with your resume. Add a short note with your resume file, 300 words or fewer, describing one deal where what you learned in discovery changed what you proposed.
