Leasing Attorney

Commercial Leasing Attorney | Law Firm | Mid-Level ~ Senior candidates welcome This Jobot Job is hosted by: Trey Mattson Are you a fit? Easy Apply now by clicking the "Quick Apply" button and sending us your resume. Salary: $200,000 - $240,000 per year A bit about us: Our client is a midsized Dallas firm built around one idea: senior people should be running deals, not buried in them. Our real estate group represents both sides of the table — landlords and developers building shopping centers, and national retail tenants leasing space in them — on deals that touch some of the most recognizable retail brands in the country. We've stayed intentionally mid-sized so attorneys keep direct client relationships instead of disappearing into a staffing pyramid. Why join us? Run leasing matters with real autonomy — the scope of what you own grows with your experience, not your tenure on a partner's deal team. Billable target sits at 1,800–1,900 hours, meaningfully lower than the 2,200 grind at bigger shops, and we mean it in practice, not just on paper. Job Details You'll handle retail leasing matters for both landlords/developers and national tenants — drafting, negotiating, and closing leases, with exposure to related acquisitions, dispositions, and financing work. The level of independence and matter complexity scales to your experience: mid-level associates get real ownership with backup when they need it; senior associates and very senior attorneys get full autonomy and a direct hand in how the practice runs. Must-haves: meaningful commercial real estate transactional experience with substantial retail leasing reps (landlord-side, tenant-side, or both) — we consider candidates from roughly 3 years up through very senior levels, with no fixed cutoff; active Texas bar admission; strong independent drafting and negotiation skills on leases; based in or willing to relocate to Dallas, in-office 3–4 days/week. Comp: base starting in the low-to-mid $200Ks and scaling with experience, negotiable for the right background — we've moved meaningfully above range for the right fit — plus standard firm benefits.
