Responsibilities Work in a large, mixed ICU unit with MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU pods Care for a diverse patient population including medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases Common diagnoses include ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, post-cardiac cath, post-surgical, multi-system trauma, and COVID Cardiac experience with CABG/TAVR post-op is preferred but not required RN-to-patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity levels Required to work 12-hour day shifts with possible every other weekend rotation Uses Epic for charting and documentation Specialized procedures and equipment include ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, vasopressors, sedation, paralytics, proning, telemetry, Impella, IABP, and CRRT (preferred) Floating to adult Medsurg/Tele floors possible if overstaffed, with typical ratios of 1:4 No on-call requirement Provide comprehensive care for critically ill adult patients including advanced cardiac and trauma cases Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, and intensivists Hospital and unit orientation provided, including one 12-hour and one 8-hour ICU shift No requests for time off during holidays or the first three weeks of August (Sturgis Bike Rally) Navy scrubs are required Free parking is available onsite Support structure includes 1-2 nurse aides per unit, mobility aide, two charge nurses overseeing the ICUs, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and resource nurse as staffing allows Requirements Active SD or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required (willingness to obtain TNCC prior to arrival if not held) Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience (exclusive of travel contracts) preferred; minimum of 1.5 years ICU experience with significant additional RN experience may be considered Experience with Epic EMR is required Ability and comfort working in a high-acuity, fast-paced ICU setting Must have previous travel assignment experience (no first-time travelers accepted) Must live at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility Permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-665679.
