Position Overview : As the Executive Director of Dialysis Services , you will oversee the administration and clinical direction of all dialysis services within our health system. This includes the renal clinic, inpatient dialysis programs, outpatient hemodialysis clinics, home dialysis modalities, and jail dialysis services. You will work closely with our Medical Directors to plan, organize, and lead the growth and efficiency of our dialysis services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in patient care. Key Responsibilities : Patient Care : Oversee the clinical services across multiple dialysis sites to ensure high-quality care in compliance with regulatory standards. Human Resources : Supervise and mentor a team of clinical and support staff. You will play a key role in staff development, recruitment, and fostering a positive work environment. Budget and Planning : Manage operational and capital budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources while meeting organizational goals. Policy and Procedures : Develop and update clinical and administrative policies to ensure ongoing compliance with healthcare regulations. Community Relations : Act as a liaison between University Health and the community, representing our dialysis services in various professional and public forums. Qualifications : Education : Bachelor's degree in Nursing (required); Master’s degree (preferred) Experience : At least 3 years of experience as a clinical nurse supervisor or director in dialysis services; leadership experience in managing multi-system dialysis operations is highly preferred. Certifications : Current RN license in Texas; AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or Instructor card required. Skills : Strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills (Spanish/English bilingual a plus), and a dedication to patient-centered care. POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES Under physician supervision, responsible for assisting with the selection and assembly of various modes of extracorporeal support of both pediatric and adult patients undergoing congenital, acquired, and traumatic lesions requiring surgical correction. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Graduate of an accredited School of Perfusion with a bachelor’s degree in a recognized field of science or learning directly related to the duties of the position is required. Pediatric interest required and experience preferred. New grads must have provisional license contingent on passing ABCP exam. Must test and pass the exam within 12 months of hire to be qualified for CCP credentials. Fundamental knowledge and skills with perfusion/surgical equipment; strong anatomical and surgical technology knowledge and excellent dexterity in the use of required equipment. Ability to remain calm in emergency situations and throughout long procedures. Strong focus on clinical quality and delivery of best results for patients. Ability to collaborate and gain cooperation in team-oriented environment. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Recognizes and resolves variances and abnormal situations that may arise. LICENSURE American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion certified or certification eligible. Operates complex electrophysiology specialty equipment such as EP Hemodynamic, PRUCKA, and stimulator. Operates radiographic fluoroscopy equipment to obtain diagnostic images Analyzes and files electrocardiographic data in picture archiving and communicating systems (PACS). Performs quality control standards by using the optimum diagnostic imaging and performing regular maintenance of fluoroscopy equipment. Monitors delivery of radiation dose to patient to achieve safe delivery with minimal exposure to staff. Participates in activities for professional development and maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
