Strong data analytics, mathematical, and statistical skills with experience evaluating failure data. Experience performing DFMEA and other reliability analyses (5 years preferred for advanced DFMEA expertise). Strong understanding of vehicular systems and system integration. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to operate in a customer-facing role. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Safety Officer

The Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission (PVSC), a publicly-owned wastewater treatment facility located in Newark, New Jersey, is currently seeking a Safety Officer. Created in 1902, PVSC is the 5th largest facility of its kind in the United States, directly serving approximately 1.5 million residents in 48 municipalities located in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union Counties. The 140-acre plant is designed to treat an average of 330 million gallons per day (“mgd”) of wastewater with an annual average flow of approximately 241 mgd. Position Summary: The Safety Officer is responsible for supporting the overall operation and administration of PVSC’s Safety Department. This will include developing comprehensive safety programs, training activities and inspection procedures, as well as participating in periodic test programs for evaluating both safety issues and responses to emergency situations. Education and Experience: High school diploma, vocational school diploma, or equivalency certificate is required, as is advanced training in safety management.
